If you missed the SoDak Circuit last year, you’ll want to mark your calendar for October 11, 2025. South Dakota’s first free, all-ages esports event is coming back for its second season, and this year’s event promises even more ways to play, watch, and get involved.
Hosted by SDN Communications and its 17 member-owner companies, the SoDak Circuit will once again take over the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Whether you’re an experienced gamer, a casual player, or someone who just wants to see what all the excitement is about, the Circuit is the perfect place to spend the day.
What’s New This Year?
Last year’s SoDak Circuit brought out players and fans from across the region to compete, spectate, and connect. This year, the event is leveling up with returning fan favorites and some exciting new additions.
Tournament play will feature Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Fortnite, Rocket League, and Valorant. In addition to those mainstays, the Circuit is expanding its game roster to include Madden NFL 25. Players can also roll their way to victory in the new RPG room, where Dungeons & Dragons tables will offer guided sessions for beginners and seasoned adventurers alike.

For the first time, SoDak Circuit is teaming up with North Western Graphcis to host a cosplay competition. Participants can show off their creativity, craftsmanship, and character portrayals for a chance at prizes and bragging rights.
And of course, not every game has to be a competition. Attendees can test out different titles at the free-play stations throughout the venue including on the brand new Nintendo Switch 2, creating opportunities for casual matches, meetups with friends, and trying something new.
A Day for Players and Fans
Not only is SoDak Circuit for gamers but spectators can watch tournament matches live on large screens, with seating available throughout the convention center. The event will feature tournament brackets for multiple age groups, making it an all-ages experience that welcomes both seasoned gamers and newcomers alike. Both Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. feature junior divisions for ages 12 and below, and the rest of the games will be for ages 13 and up.
Whether you’re participating in a bracket, exploring the free-play stations, or just watching the action unfold, the Circuit is designed to offer something for everyone.

More Than Just Gaming
At its core, the SoDak Circuit is about more than just games. For SDN Communications and its 17 member companies, the event is a celebration of connectivity. With more than 50,000 miles of high-speed fiber-optic network infrastructure covering over 90 percent of South Dakota, this is a chance to showcase the technology that powers the region.
It’s also an opportunity to inspire the next generation of technical talent. The Circuit serves as a hands-on introduction to the world of technology and telecommunications, helping young people and adults alike see the possibilities of careers in these growing fields.
Be the First to Sign Up
Player Profiles are now live. Complete your individual, family or team profile to allow easier and faster check-in on game day. Player Profiles don’t guarantee a spot in the tournament, only arriving early and checking in on a first come, first served basis will get you a spot, but they do help organizers know how many to expect and whether they need to expand brackets.
