Generous health insurance and free dental/vision coverage

SDN Communications pays 70% of employee health insurance premiums, plus a generous HSA contribution on high-deductible plans. Vision and dental coverage is free for employees and their families. Yes, free!

Accelerate your retirement savings

Catch up on your retirement savings with our incredible 401(k) plan. Company match? It's better than that. SDN will put 7.5% of your base salary in your account every pay period even before you contribute anything.

Full-time employees start at four weeks PTO

Many companies allow new employees to accrue only two weeks of personal time off annually. At SDN, new employees accrue four weeks starting in their first year. That extends to five weeks after five full years and six after 10.

GIG powers engagement

The Great Ideas Group (GIG) organizes several workplace activities throughout the year, including potlucks, bean bag tournaments, kids trick-or-treating and the annual Christmas party where employees can win generous prizes.

Access to events

SDN supports many local events, and employees can take advantage with free concert and sports tickets at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center as well as other events such as the Sioux Falls AirShow and Pro Am Jam.

Time for a break

SDN is all in on esports with the SoDak Circuit, and employees will soon be able to hone their gaming skills at an on-site esports lounge. Plus, sample amazing grub during food truck Thursdays or take a break with a walk on the bike trail.

Commitment to community

We give back, and our employees help

A lot of companies donate money to charities. SDN gives back to many local organizations, but we also give our time. Employees are encouraged to volunteer every year, and we give them resources to do it. SDN staff contributed more than 500 hours of volunteer time in 2022 and 2023. Among the types of organizations we've donated time, money and resources to:

  • Private schools, public schools and other education programs
  • Homeless services and food pantries
