Job summary

SDN Communications has a dynamic and strategic Marketing Manager role that requires a unique blend of emotional intelligence, creativity and organizational skills. This position is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that effectively communicate the value of SDN’s premier network and services to our target audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Emotional Quotient (EQ), enabling them to connect with our internal stakeholders and external customers on a deeper level, understand their needs and tailor marketing messages to drive engagement.

Creativity is at the heart of this role, as the SDN Marketing Manager must constantly innovate to stand out in a competitive market. This includes designing compelling marketing campaigns, leveraging digital and traditional media and exploring new ways to engage customers through storytelling and immersive experiences and successfully executing industry-leading events.

The ability to think outside the box and bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table is crucial for capturing the attention of potential customers and creating memorable brand experiences.

Organizational skills are equally important, as the SDN Marketing Manager will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to execution. This requires meticulous planning, coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of successfully launching marketing initiatives on time and within budget, leveraging data to inform decisions and adjusting strategies based on performance metrics to maximize ROI.

In addition to these core competencies, the preferred candidate should have a solid understanding of the telecommunications industry, including emerging trends and technologies. They should also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work collaboratively with teams across the organization to achieve common goals.

Ultimately, the Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of SDN Communications by combining emotional intelligence, creativity, and organizational prowess to develop marketing strategies that connect with our B2B customers and deliver tangible business results.

Requirements include the following:

  • Lead a team of marketing professionals.
  • Marketing tactics – work closely with traditional and digital advertising agencies for media strategy and tactics, which requires vendor management experience.
  • Strategic event planning – coordinates complex events that reflect the premium brand.
  • Digital content – manage staff, freelancers, and vendors who work in tandem to implement daily tactics that ultimately deliver quality sales leads.
  • Designs campaigns targeting specific market segments or focusing on specific products or product lines.
  • Assists in the production of print, online, or other forms of advertisement, and assists with special events or promotions.
  • Measures and analyzes campaign results to determine ROI.
  • Assists with monitoring the annual marketing budget and updates the VP periodically.
  • Manages adherence of brand standards.
  • Earned media – recognizes and successfully promotes the corporate and industry stories to media and then tracks its value.
  • Leads marketing L10 meetings (EOS).
  • Special projects defined by the VP of Sales & Marketing.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience, showing growth and development in the marketing field.
  • Two (2) years supervision experience, or more, preferred.
  • Telecom or technology industry experience preferred.

Work hours

The normal work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flexibility. Some weekend/evening work is required based on certain events. Occasional overnight travel will be required.

Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCDR):

You are expected to participate in SDN's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program by being knowledgeable about SDN's BCDR Program, actively participate in BCDR drills and exercises, and may be assigned various duties in response to business emergencies (and establishing/ executing priorities, responses and recovery activities in the event of a service disruption).
