Through growth and internal promotion, we have a rare opening on the SDN Communications marketing team for a Marketing Graphic Designer. This position requires a unique blend of creativity, communication and strategic thinking to illustrate the value of SDN’s premier network and services to our target audiences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment tackling a variety of projects through their creative design prowess, team collaboration and clear communication.
Creativity, organization and excellent design skills are equally balanced in this role, as the SDN marketing team tackles a vast variety of duties. The ideal candidate will make a direct impact on our message through designing all the customer facing and internal graphics for our organization. They will also assist in creating every visual aspect for our events including our brand-new esports event, SoDak Circuit.
Because the Marketing Graphic Designer is in the middle of so many initiatives, the ability to prioritize projects and communicate is essential. Innovation, collaboration and creativity are highly valued skills within SDN, and the ideal candidate will possess these in droves.
Experience in telecom is not required for this position. In fact, most of our team started out in other careers but have since called telecommunications home. How you make an impact
- Assist in the production of print, online, or other forms of advertisement as well as special events and promotions
- Use photography skills for headshots and event photography
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other departments to understand design and photography needs
- Develop creative concepts for graphic design projects, including brochures, presentations, logos, social media graphics and website elements that align with brand standards
- Uphold brand standards both publicly and companywide
- Plan, communicate and execute all design projects including but not limited to
- Annual company calendar
- Business cards
- Sales collateral
- Building graphics
- Vehicle graphics
- Maps (ArcGIS)
- Research, design and order promotional merchandise to maintain budget
- Negotiate with vendors for best prices and quality
- Maintain organization in merchandise closets
- Assist sales team with gathering items & products for shows and events
- Organize and execute spring and fall employee store
- Design all event collateral for internal and external events
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-resolution photographs for various marketing materials, events, headshots and digital platforms
- Maintain and update a digital asset library
- Stay current with design trends and best practices
- Collaborate with member companies as needed
- Assist with events as needed
- Assist Marketing Manager with other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful

- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and In Design

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and detailed portfolio showcasing project development and deployment.
Certificates and Licenses:

Other Qualifications
Must be able to travel; Occasional overnight travel will be required.
