Position summary
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Sales Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team in the telecom industry. This role focuses on driving revenue growth and retention in the commercial and enterprise sectors by selling connectivity solutions and managed services, such as managed firewalls and routers. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, and a collaborative leader with sales and technical knowledge related to the telecom industry.

Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, develop, mentor, and manage a team of account executives to achieve individual and team sales / revenue targets.
- Revenue Growth & Retention: Develop and execute strategies to preserve existing revenue streams while identifying opportunities for growth in the commercial and enterprise markets.
- Sales Strategy Development: Create sales plans tailored to connectivity and managed services offerings, ensuring alignment with company objectives. May include developing strategies for growth in new markets. Will play a key role in service and product pricing strategy.
- Account Management Oversight: Delegate responsibilities for existing accounts to account executives while ensuring efficient support and high customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and data insights to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies.
- Data Reporting & Analysis: Generate detailed sales reports, analyze performance metrics, and recommend actions based on data trends.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to expand the company’s reach and influence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product development committee, and operations teams to align sales initiatives with broader business and operational goals.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sales roles within the telecommunications or technology sectors preferred.
- Proven expertise in selling connectivity solutions (e.g., fiber-optic services) and managed services (e.g., firewalls, routers).
- Strong understanding of telecom products, market dynamics, and commercial / enterprise customer needs.
Other qualifications
- Must be able to travel, some overnight travel required (current driver's license)
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCDR)
You are expected to participate in SDN's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program by being knowledgeable about SDN's BCDR Program, actively participate in BCDR drills and exercises, and may be assigned various duties in response to business emergencies (and establishing / executing priorities, responses and recovery activities in the event of a service disruption).
