The Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls is a steward of science and art. SDN Communications enjoys supporting those science and technology efforts, especially for the communities we serve.
In an effort to offer a free experience for anyone wanting to attend the Washington Pavilion, SDN Communications co-sponsored a new opportunity in 2009 called “Free First Fridays.” On the first Friday of every month, the Pavilion allows visitors FREE admission to its Kirby Science Discovery Center and Visual Arts Center and offers $5 Cinedome tickets. Now, on its 1-year anniversary in 2010, how successful was “Free First Fridays”? Well, take a look at the numbers:
- The Washington Pavilion saw an addition 8,683 people walk through their doors and experience the interactive exhibits because of Free First Fridays.
- They averaged 724 visitors every first Friday of the month.
- They acquired 200 additional memberships to the Pavilion in 2009.
Those numbers demonstrate how valuable this sponsorship is to the people we serve. “’Free First Fridays is a way for the Pavilion to open its doors and roll out the welcome mat to everyone, whether they are financially unable to attend, new to the area, have never attended before, or are a regular visitor, we want everyone to join us the first Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. to enjoy everything the Pavilion has to offer. We couldn’t make this possible without the help of SDN Communications,” says Allison Hauck, Development Director at the Washington Pavilion. SDN is proud to be a partner in the effort that allows so many people to experience the science and creativity of the Washington Pavilion. We look forward to seeing the success it will bring in 2010.
