Rural Opportunity Investment Conference

SDN Communications CEO Mark Shlanta is an invited guest at the White House today for the Rural Opportunity Investment Conference put on by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Shlanta will be a panelist Thursday, speaking about the opportunities in rural telecom.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, a former Iowa Governor (1999 to 2007), keynoted today’s White House event with an impressive group of panelists including the U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Citi’s Global Head of Public Sector Bank Services among others.

President Barack Obama’s “Made in Rural America” initiative headed up by USDA and Sec. Vilsack includes a new investment fund to propel small businesses across the country. Shlanta’s contribution Thursday will focus on the connectivity offered by companies like SDN and a view into the economic strength of South Dakota. Shlanta’s session is full. See the full agenda.
